About the Area

The village

Lourmarin is a beautiful village, with two rises, one houses the village, on the other is the picturesque Renaissance chateau.

The drive to the village itself is quite thrilling, winding through cliffs and forest, with a few hairpin bends thrown in. The market in the village is on Friday mornings and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, especially with the idealistic café culture spilling into the cobblestone streets.

It is no wonder that Lourmarin attracts many visitors at all seasons with its many restaurants, cafés and boutiques where you can find all sorts of treasures.

From Lourmarin it is a quick drive into the "Golden Triangle" of the Luberon following the D943 to Bonnieux, the villages in the "Golden Triangle" are; Bonnieux, Gordes, Goult, Lacoste, Ménerbes, Oppède and Rousillon.

There are small grocery shops in the village, but the larger stores can be found in Lauris; just 10 minutes away by car!
