The Mas des Tourterelles hides in the centre of Maussane, a quiet and unassuming farmhouse nestled in the village. A short 2 minute walk from the town square of Maussane, the Mas offeres a suprising amount of space both inside and out for a property so close to the village centre. A true Oasis inside the village, the garden offers undisturbed enjoyment of the Provençal climate, whilst the location provides excellent access to the nearby restaurants and amenities.

The three main bedrooms offer comfortable accomodation for 6 adults, with the adjoined self-contained family suite offering space for 2 more adults, or a small family. The 19th Century farmhouse building has undergone a full restoration by the owners, who have opted to maintain much of the period charm of the property.

One particular highlight to note at the Mas des Tourterelles is the stunning open kitchen. This well equipped and generously sized space makes the ideal area for preparing meals for the whole family, or even for inviting a local chef to cook the best Provençal recipes in the comfort of your own home away from home.

In the garden, lavendar plants and olive trees combine to create a truly Provençal garden. The pool and close-by outdoor lounging space form the perfect spot to hide away from the noise of village life and relax in to the perfect escape to Provence.

About the Area

The village

Nestled at the foot of the Alpilles, Maussane is a quaint provençal village surrounded by vast olive plantations and superb countryside. With this village surrounded by more than 37,000 olive trees it is no surprise that it is known as one of the most important olive oil producing areas in the country. Its two active windmills continue to produce oil of exceptional quality.

Maussane's history is linked to Les Baux de Provence where its inhabitants sought refuge in times of war. And at less than 5km away, Les Baux de Provence is a beautiful walk and visit!

Like Maussane les Alpilles, le Paradou was established at the foot of the fortress, Les Baux de Provence, with the fate of the village closely linked to the fortress of Les Baux de Provence.
